  1. 25, MARIQUINA, KURTZ JOHNSON E.

    -> Kurtz
    • The name Kurtz was first found in Switzerland. It is also of German and Jewish origin. It is a nickname for someone who was short in stature.
    • I was named Kurtz, because my father was a huge fan of Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. Since my father wanted my name to be unique, he added a z; thus, my name became Kurtz.

    -> Johnson
    • The name Johnson is of ancient Norman origin. It arrived in England with the Norman Conquest of 1066. Johnson is a name that comes from the given name John and the name literally means son of John. John is derived from the Hebrew name Johanan, which means Jehovah has favored. The name was extremely popular in the Middle Ages as a result of the numerous connections between the name John and the Catholic Church.
    • I was named Johnson, because it is my grandfather’s name, which was then passed on to the next generations. My male cousins are also named Johnson.

    My name came from two words:

    -Al
    ○ My mom read a book and got an idea that "Al" means "the first or the highest one".
    ○ It came from my grandfather's name(my mom's uncle) "Alberto" whom she admired so much.

    -Bien
    ○ From the Spanish word, which means good.
    ○ Also from the name of my another grandfather(my dad's father) "Bienvenido".

  3. 26, Mijares, Karla Rose S.
    The history of my name "Karla Rose" originates from two names. First is Karl Marx and the second is Rosa.
    Karl Marx is known as the great leader and the great revolutionary during the older times. Rosa is the name of my grandmother. My Lola Rosa is known as a very tough lady. They have similarities in terms of characters as Karl Marx. My dad idolized the principles of Karl Marx; likewise, he idolized the principles of my grandmother Rosa. This is where my name was derived, from the name of Karl Marx and Rosa. "KARLA ROSE"

  9. 21, Hubilla, Jan Salres Joseff R.

    "Jan" from what I read was German form of the English name "John" but it was derived from my grandfathers name "Juan". My Second firstame "Salres" was a combination of my parents name "Salvador" and "Dolores". My last firstname "Joseff" is obviously from the German name "Josef" or the English name "Joseph" but was it really was from another grandfather of mine "Jose".

  13. C20., Han, sungjin. K.

    In korea, There used be lots of people by the same name like mine, yet still first name sungjin is widely used in the name of Company and people with meaning "Sung" as Success, and "Jin" as "Progressive"
    Koreans are usually use chines character when they give first name to their children , ,though we pronounce it as korean because one chinese letter can contain long exlanation.

    Different from the first explanation my name has different meaning though it has the same sound from the former one. "聖" we pronounce it "sung" which means "Saint" in spanish "Santos".
    "珍" "Jin" means "Precious"

    My first name was given by Korean Pastor. That is the reason why name is bit holy. I used to want my name with different meaning just like the first one " Progressive Success" What a good meaning. But I figured out second one was much profound because once I combine my first name to last name "Han" which means "one nation" it becomes " You will become a precious person in one nation" I hope that nation is the Philippine.

  15. 15, ESGUERRA, MELVIN C.

    Melvin is a modernized version of the Scottish clan name Melville (surname). The name Melville was shortened to “Melvin” during the Scottish Reformation period.
    When my mother was reading a book, she found a name “mel”. She got an idea that it is also a standalone name from the Gaelic Maol, meaning "follower of Jesus". Since it was a short name, she added the nickname “vin” of my grandfather whom she admired so much. So the name Melvin was formed and it was given to me. That’s simply the story why I was named Melvin.

  19. class number 9, CHUIDIAN, Lorenzo Adriel T.

    My name, Lorenzo Adriel, came from two different words but when combined have a great meaning. Lorenzo is a Spanish name which means “Crown of Laurel Leaves” or “Champion”. As for my name Adriel, it is a Hebrew name which means “God’s People”. So when the two name combined it grants the title or name or calling, “Champion Of God’s People”.
    The story about how my parents gave me this name goes like this, the name Lorenzo came from a movie actually, called “Lorenzo’s Oil”, my parents were touched by the main characters love for her child so they wanted to call me by Lorenzo for sure, if a boy, if I were a girl, it would have been “Laura”. Then my name Adriel came later on as my dad was waiting for me and my mom, he got it from a book of baby names in a hospital. Now if I were to be a girl according to my dad, my name could have been “Laura Adriela” or “Laura Adriane”.
